about me, emma chow

Nature x Nurture was inspired by creator, Emma Chow’s travels through Latin America in 2022 as she recovered from a burnout. A period of rest after a decade of chasing an endless pursuit of ‘saving the world’ that finally came to a halt as her body begged her to stop. She tuned into whispers from the land, the flowers, and the fauna. They called her to discover the powerful medicine of ceremonial Cacao and she fell in love with social enterprise, Cacao Source, whom she met in Guatemala. They called her to evolve her art practice and embark on a journey of ancestral healing: infusing botanicals from the British landscape (where he mother is from) with silks (a material she has always loved and is rooted in the land where her Chinese grandparents are from.) They called her to share practices of deep healing with others, especially those embodying former version of herself: the impact-oriented people. Emma learnt from natural dyeing artists and experts in Guatemala and Mexico and expanded herself as a meditation and movement guide. As she walked a path of self-regeneration, she was pulled to help others do the same. Her hope is to help us collectively reconnect with our humanity and heal our relationship with all life itself.

Nature x (by) Nurture emerged from a desire to not only imagine, but create a radically better world. We believe the best place to start is with ourselves; reconnecting with our own true nature as human beings — as unique creatures inherently intertwined as part of Nature. Transcending the veil of separation, we come into union with Nature’s infinite intelligence and unlock our potential as nurturers of all life. Starting with ourselves, we create a new world.

Our tools: Healing plants… into our bodies: ceremonial Cacao…into our spaces: botanical silks and natural fibres. Healing experiences…weaving meditation, Nature-connection, movement, breath, and sub-conscious upgrading.
